A sporadic record of the longest-running PK78 building project in history. The boat is named "Cindy" after my wife's girlhood dog. The boys picked the name. They are good kids.

In the summer of 2005 my sons and I built a 17-1/2 foot expedition touring canoe called the Issaquah 17.5. It is not designed by the boatplans-online team, but I did get permission to post these pictures on their Website. The 4mm Okoume plywood was purchased locally, most of the epoxy and fiberglass came from boatbuildercentral, and the seats came from JEM Watercraft. This was the prototype for a design aimed at Boy Scouts and other wilderness trekkers, and based on our experience the designer will market a slightly modified plan as the Issaquah. The only change from the prototype to the finished design will be to cut the freeboard down slightly (from 15 inches to 13). The Issaquah was designed by Matt Langenfeld.
